It’s very interesting to hear some of the demo takes from the Awake sessions. Everything sounds pretty faithful to the final release. There are a few solos and lyrical melodies that were changed but everything else seems the same. I was really hoping that Lie would contain the original lyrics that Kevin wrote with the alternate chorus sequence but fate has other plans.
Packaging Review
All of the Ytsejam Records releases have a very professional insert in a jewel case. The liner notes are very informative as well. The liner notes also contain a picture of the hand-written piece of paper the band drew up while brainstorming names for the album. My favorite… “Wood to Chop”.
